Fragment of a Sidamara-type sarcophagus, from a region in present-day Turkey. It features elaborate architectural ornamentation, with a fragmentary cornice composed of bands of vegetal, oval, and spherical motifs. In the upper left, Eros is depicted wrestling with a panther.
Provenance: Belgian collection. Formerly in the private collection of a Belgian diplomat.
