A collection of flaked flint tools, mostly bifaces, ranging from 5 to 13.7 cm in size, some of which bear inscriptions indicating their provenance.
Barzan in Charente-Maritime near Royan, Lalinde in Dordogne (listed asAcheulean, but much more likely from the Upper Paleolithic) and Meschers in Charente-Maritime.
Unfortunately, the others are not labeled, but likely come from the same geographical area.
Objects of fascination since antiquity, these carved flints are now the subjectof scientific research that allows for more accurate dating—most between-50,000 and -10,000 years before Christ—and make delightful additions to curiosity cabinets.
