DESCRIPTION: An impressive two-door console table featuring tortoiseshell and brass Boulle marquetry, with rich ornamentation of gilded bronze elements such as: multiple ingot holders, spandrels framing the doors, upper and lower finials featuring Atlantean motifs, a Neptune mask on the doors, and corners and sides adorned with masks and spandrels. Rich marquetry featuring scrollwork, volutes, and interlacing patterns. Base with carved plinth, top in Belgian black marble.
Stamped twice with the mark of the famous Diehl firm (Charles Guillaume Diehl)
