Empire-style Armchair – Mahogany And Green Velvet
Empire-style armchair (early 19th century) made of mahogany and mahogany veneer.
This model features clean, architectural lines with a slightly sloping rectangular backrest. The armrests rest on baluster supports. The front legs are tapered, and the rear legs are sabre-shaped. The upholstery is in Empire green velvet.
Condition:
The structure is sound and stable.
Signs of wear and age are present:
Slight swelling (lifting) of the veneer is visible on the front panel.
A burn mark is visible on the velvet (see photographs).
Normal wear and tear consistent with the chair’s age is present throughout the chair.
