"Period "consulat" Armchair In Mahogany, Stamped "jacob . D ( 1803-1813 ) J.d. )"
A period CONSULATE armchair, stamped (JACOB..D 1803/1813) J.D., dating from the very early 19th century, crafted from light mahogany with a scrolled back inlaid with a double palmette in rosewood and pewter. The armchair is upholstered in old rose-colored leather with exquisite studded passementerie work. The original leather upholstery is in very good condition, as is the padding (with only minor wear on the two armrests). The seat is very sturdy and pegged, finished with an antique French polish, and has been cleaned and buffed in our workshop. A beautifully crafted piece of furniture.
