Canton, China, Fan For Export, Made Of Bamboo Lacquered In Black And Gold, Circa 1880
Fan, the frame is made of bamboo lacquered in black and gold and decorated with figures in a garden. The fan leaf is made of paper painted with scenes of terraces on both sides; the figures, dressed in silk and with faces made of bone, are glued on to the leaf. The fan measures 11,02 inches when closed.
