Perfume Cabinet, Palais Royal, Napoleonic III Period, 19th-century Baccarat; Mother-of-pearl Fragrance Box
Antique perfume cabinet from the Napoleon III era, crafted from mother-of-pearl and gilded brass.
The piece features an oval shape mounted on a brass frame adorned with scrollwork, resting on an openwork base.
The upper section, made entirely of mother-of-pearl with iridescent sheen, opens via a glass door to reveal two small cut-glass perfume bottles, each with its own metal stopper.
They are held in a gilded brass bottle holder with openwork decoration.
The frame features a decoration of fluted stems, scrolls, small spheres, and beaded borders, characteristic of toiletries and perfume items made in the second half of the 19th century.
