Second Empire Umbrella, Red Silk, Excellent Condition, France, Circa 1850
A charming mid-19th-century parasol, whose silk has been replaced. It is therefore in perfect condition and cane asily be used today.

The parasol features two ingenious mechanisms typical of the era:
- An upper metal ringthat allows the silk canopy to be tilted once open.
- A central ring that allows the umbrella to be folded in half, making it easier to store or to access ahorse-drawn carriage.
It measures 13,78 inches long when closed and approximately 18,11 inches in diameter when open.
