Antique Fan, Circa 1800, Elizabeth I Of England And The Earl Of Essex
Rare lithographed and enhanced leaf fan depicting Queen Elizabeth and the Earl of Essex spreading his cloak in the mudcoat in the mud so she doesn't get her foot wet. The scene is described on the right-hand side. Superb border decorated in birds and putti. Rosewood frame, bone head. One strand missing. Some wear visible on the leaf. It measures 9,45 inches closed.
