A First Empire-style Nightstand In Light Walnut, Featuring A Drawer And Door, For This Simple 19th-century Column-style Nightstand
Artist: Non Signé
Beautiful and understated "Somno" nightstand made of walnut and light walnut solid wood inlay, from the Napoleonic era, First Empire style, in the form of a low column. An elegant and functional “Neoclassical” style nightstand designed to display a statuette, suitable for a living room or as a side table; easy to move thanks to its bronze casters, and opened by a small bronze handle secured with a rod. The interior features a central shelf lined with greige linen edged with matching braid—as is the interior of the door—and a concealed, crossbar-less drawer operated by a chiseled gilded bronze knob. An elegant piece with beautiful honey-colored grain (rarer than mahogany), decorative and in good condition with a striking presence; treated and in good condition, this side table has high decorative value—it can serve as a serving table or hold a lamp, and is ideal for showcasing a statue.
