Rare Beautiful Children's Secretary From The Mid-18th Century With Trans Rosewood Frame Motifs.

With its fine turquin gray marble veined with halos, this very charming little piece of children's furniture inlaid on all sides with panels in rosewood and satinette frames, is a marvel of balance and beauty, a piece like we rarely see and of this mid-18th century quality of pure transitional style; its size makes it a piece of furniture of Curiosities and a real little jewel for a child who wants to imitate his Parents, well designed and mounted on a sycamore this piece claims to be Provincial and worked by a good carpenter around 1760... The photos will tell you more that I have a real crush on a piece of furniture that is small but not so much, easy to place and which, apart from its beautiful appearance, can be useful; in fact the ingenious system of the flap which unfolds for greater working comfort, the solid brackets and its original lock in good condition which opens onto four drawers, one of which is compartmentalized for the inkwell and other accessories. A beautiful theater, the rosewood frames, lemon tree fillets and middle in very blond rosewood veneered in chevrons, the structure of the flap well made and carefully finished with rosewood parquet surrounding a morocco leather in its middle vintage burgundy. The double door in the lower part offers significant storage space, a beautiful robust polished steel lock and on the other door a period skeleton lock. This piece of furniture is healthy and has always been maintained, beautiful and of certain decorative interest, useful in a living room for writing a little letter.... A piece that we rarely come across...
