A Beautiful Pair Of Openwork Silver Cups (925/1000), From The New York Firm Howard & Co., 1890
Artist: Howard &co
Originating from across the Atlantic, these exquisite 925 sterling silver bowls were crafted by the prestigious New York silversmith firm Howard & Co. in 1890. In perfect condition and true to their original design, these bread bowls are exquisitely ornamental and make two beautiful serving dishes with their finely chased, openwork, and scalloped edges and footed bases. Remarkably crafted and monogrammed, they are a precious addition to a refined table setting and can be used in a variety of ways. These rare pieces from America embody the art of French dining, a fact that did not escape the notice of the renowned New York silversmith. Of generous proportions, with a perfect polish and harmonious form, this lovely pair is marked on the sole and engraved with the name of the American company founded in 1866, and later, with its success, established on Fifth Avenue in New York (it produced until 1922, when it closed its doors). These are rare and precious collector's items in pure, certified silver and bear the beautiful signature.
