The nudes, drawn with precise contours, resemble studies, yet forma constellation that connects the two bodies. The result isa dynamic pictorial tension from which the work’s erotic aura emanates. Thedepiction is fully in keeping with the spirit of a new culture of thenude body and the ode to youth that resonates in Art Nouveau. Thechromatic structure that pervades the entire work evokes a sense ofgentle corporeality and lends the depiction a sensual vibrato.
