A hard-paste porcelain vase thrown on a potter’s wheel, decorated with floral motifs, emblems, and fruit painted in “Famille Rose” glazes. China, Jingdezhen kilns, Yongzheng reign, early 18th century. The gilded bronze base, made in France, appears to date from the same period; the casting is beautiful, and the engravings are precise and numerous. Vase alone: 22 cm. Total height: 46 cm. Condition: The vase has a restored crack; the bronze mount is slightly worn in places, as is the gilding. The piece was successively mounted as a candlestick, a kerosene lamp, and finally converted to electric lighting.
