Large Art Deco Vase, With A Blue Band And Silver Spangles, By Delatte, From The Daum Galle Era

A lovely Art Deco vase with a blue band and silver flecks by André Delatte.

This Art Deco vase, typical of André Delatte’s work, is an imposing piece with beautiful color.
It features a beautiful shape with a small foot and a wide opening at the neck. Delatte was the only one to use this technique, applying colored bands like a wash (photos of a piece using the same technique are shown in the last few photos). I still wonder today about the technique used, because this color is layered, and it looks like brushstrokes... which seems impossible on molten glass...
The piece is unsigned, but only Delatte mastered this technique. I’ve handled numerous vases made using this method—only Delatte employed it—so as a professional, I can guarantee its authenticity... Furthermore, Delatte used silver flakes, not gold flakes like Daum, for example.
The result is superb—I’ll let you be the judge...

There is a chip on the base, which explains the price—it’s a used piece but so decorative and authentic to the period!
