Alfred Barye , a renowned French sculptor, known as "The Son" , or "Alf Barye" , was born in Paris on January 21, 1839.
Alfred Barye was a student of his father , the sculptor Antoine-Louis Barye .
He trained and worked in his father’s studio and foundry .
His body of work includes animal bronzes as well as Orientalist and comic subjects .
He exhibited at the Salon from 1864 to 1882 .
Alfred Barye’s works display a very high degree of detail , craftsmanship , and finish , on par with his father’s works .
Alfred Barye created the "Arab Rider on Horseback" in collaboration with Emile Coriolan Guillemin (1841–1907) .
He died on May 13 , 1895 , in Paris .
