Martine ROUART, born in 1934
Martine Rouart is a contemporary painter and sculptor born in 1934, the daughter of Paul Rouart and Agate Valéry.
A painter and sculptor, she trained at the Beaux-Arts in Paris and is the author of a memoir, "La cuisinière de Mallarmé."
The granddaughter of Paul Valéry, niece of Paul Gobillard, and grandniece of Berthe Morisot, she spent her childhood with her grandfather in the apartment on Rue de Villejust, whose walls were lined with paintings by Manet, Degas, and Berthe Morisot, and saw Gide, Renoir, and Poulenc come and go....
