"horse On A Towpath" Victor Marec
Artist: Victor Marec
A draft horse, likely an Auxois, on a towpath. For several centuries, horses and mules pulled heavy boats along the paths bordering the waterways. The painting is attributed on the back to Victor MAREC, a painter born in Paris in 1862. A student of Gérôme and Jean Paul Laurens, he exhibited at the Salon des Artistes Français. He is the artist behind a painting titled: "River Landscape in Burgundy." This work is highlighted by a beautiful Louis XV-style frame in wood and gilded stucco. The dimensions with the frame are 24 cm x 30 cm. The cost of packaging, shipping, and insurance via tracked Colissimo is €30 for France and €40 for the European Union.
