"young Woman In A Negligee" Léonie Humbert-vignot

Pierrette Marguerite Léonie HUMBERT-VIGNOT was born in Lyon in 1878. She died there in 1960. She studied with Alexandre Bonnardel at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts de Lyon and with Edouard Toudouze at the Académie Julian in Paris. She painted mainly nudes, portraits and intimate scenes. She exhibited at the Salon de la Société Lyonnaise des Beaux-Arts and at the Société des Artistes Français in Paris, where she received an honorable mention and a third-class medal. This beautiful, intimate scene depicts a young woman seated in her boudeoir. Léonie Humbert-Vignot is featured in "Bénézit" as well as in the book "La peinture lyonnaise au 19ème" by Elisabeth Hardouin-Fugier and Etienne Grafe.
