Beautiful Bronze Censer, Incense Burner, Dark Patina Elephant, Japan, Meiji 19th Century

Resting on its 4 legs, here is a beautiful stylized elephant. Made of bronze with a dark patina, it is shown standing with its head up and its sinuous trunk in the air, probably barking. It must originally have been an incense burner, whose lid is missing. Fine details, openwork tusks, chiselled ears and stretched eyes, fan-shaped tail. Very heavy, very present in the hands.
Condition. Lid missing. Some wear to dark patina (nothing serious) Please look carefully at my detailed photos, I'm not hiding anything.
Asian working, most likely Japanese, second part of the XiXth century, Meiji period.
Dimensions: 19.5cm x 20cm H
