Chapelet in ebony-colored blackened wood, metal cross and medal, with itsbone rosary bead (ox) depicting a Christ head and a Vanity, Mater Dolorosa anda Vanity, medal of the Mater Dolorosa and Saint Vincent de Paul,19th century.

This rosary is in good condition. It is markedon the medal "S.Vincentius A Paulo" (Saint Vincent de Paul*) and"Mater Dolorosa OPN" (Mother of Sorrow).

Please note: all elements are 19th centuryelements are 19th century, but this rosary was remade in the 20th century(string instead of chain), wear and tear on the beads, see photos.photos.

*The Daughters of Charity or Sisters of Saint Vincent de Paul (inLatin Societas Filiarum Caritatis a S. Vincentio de Paulo) are aa society of apostolic life for women of pontifical right.initials F.d.l.C. nstituted in 1633 by Saint Vincent de Paul Vincent de Paul, and whose formation was entrusted to Louise de Marillac, dedicated to the care of the sick and to the corporal and spiritualof the poor. The first sister was a cowherd named MargueriteNaseau, who had devoted herself since her youth to teachinggirls. Throughout the 19th century and until the 1960s, thecongregation of the Sisters of Saint Vincent de Paul were auxiliariesin hospices and asylums, at first on a massive scale, then fromfrom 1920, they were gradually replaced by nurses,psychiatric nurses and lay care assistants.
