Oil on canvas signed Louis Rosan* representing a marine pardon in Brittany with figures standing on boats at sea, entitled "Procession at sea", dated 1959, most likely in South Brittany - Morbihan, perhaps the Lorient region, from the 20th century. This painting is in good general condition. Dated and signed lower left. Annotation on the frame "Louis Rosan 28 rue Ratier Lorient". Please note: this painting will need cleaning (stains at the bottom, especially on the frame), wear and tear, see photos. * Louis Rosan (1926-2017): Born in Amiens, Louis Rosan studied art at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Amiens from 1941 to 1944. He graduated from the Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs in Paris in 1947. He was awarded the Painter's Prize in 1956, the Vikings Prize in 1957, the Feneon-University of Paris Prize in 1961, and the Taverny Prize in 1973. He was also invited to the First Paris Biennale in 1959. Louis Rosan participated in exhibitions in all the major Parisian salons and was a member of the Salon d'Automne and the Salon des Indépendants in Paris. He also had group and solo exhibitions in Vannes, Amiens, Grenoble, Tehran, New York, and Palm Beach. Artist highly rated on ArtPrice.
