Miniature Ivory Tortoiseshell Round Box Painted With A Portrait Of Marie Antoinette, 18th Century
Roundbox made of ivory and tortoiseshell, with the lid adorned with a painted miniature depicting the portrait of a woman of high rank, most likely Queen Marie Antoinette wearing her feathered headdress, signed Rataud, encircled in gold (or pomponne), dating from the late 18th century.
This box is in good condition and of superb quality. The miniature is signed on the side—see photos.
