Bernard Ambielle was born in Strasbourg in January 1951. For a period around the 1980s, Bernard Ambielle signed his works "Roman," a name he used in homage to his maternal grandfather, who was from Veneto. Works from this period, such as "Roman," were exhibited in Paris at the Bijan-Aalam gallery, where Bernard Ambielle had the privilege of being shown alongside the late Swiss painter H.R. Giger, creator of the sets and the famous Alien for Ridley Scott's film, and later at the Râ gallery on rue de Turbigo, which specialized in visionary artists. He concluded this cycle of paintings with an exhibition at the Aktuarius gallery in Strasbourg in the autumn of 1984.
