An important and spectacular pair of Sèvres porcelain vases, made in France in the mid-19th century, embellished with richly carved and mercury-gilded bronze mounts.
The ovoid vases feature a refined Bleu de Roi background decorated with elegant ornamental motifs in pure gold. The front of each piece features a large oval reserve painted with mythological and allegorical scenes, characterized by a delicate palette and remarkable craftsmanship, typical of the finest productions of the Napoleonic period and the Second Republic.
The side handles, bases, and borders are enriched with sumptuous gilded bronze applications, while the lids support spectacular gilded bronze floral arrangements, crafted with extraordinary naturalistic mastery.
