This Louis XVI flat-top desk exemplifies the elegance and formal precision characteristic of French furniture from the Neoclassical period. Crafted from fruitwood, it features a restrained, balanced rectangular silhouette, resting on four tapered, square-section legs that terminate in bronze sabots. The corners are accented with vertical fluting, a signature motif of the Louis XVI decorative repertoire inspired by classical architecture.

The apron houses three horizontally aligned drawers. These are fitted with bronze drop handles, while the central drawer retains its original lock plate shaped like a trefoil heart, a detail typical of the period's metalwork. A delicate brass molding runs along the edge of the apron, providing a subtle contrast to the warmth of the wood.

The top is inset with green leather framed by a molded wooden border, offering a writing surface true to the piece's original purpose.
