This exquisite small Louis XVI period Bonheur du Jour desk, crafted in mahogany and mahogany veneer, rests on tapered legs terminating in gilt bronze sabots. The upper section opens with two small, partially glazed doors revealing an interior shelf and two small drawers. The lower section features a wide drawer in the frieze and a drop-front writing surface covered in green leather tooled in gilt. The upper section is topped with a lovely white marble slab with gray veining, encircled by a gilt brass gallery with openwork decoration.
