Art-nouveau Lamp With Bronze Eagle Foot And Tulip Koloman Moser
Artist: Koloman Moser, Priduit Par Loet
Superb art-nouveau lamp with gilded bronze "eagle" base and tulip made by Loetz after a design by Koloman Moser.
Really an amateur piece, it took me a lot of research to find the origin of this superb tulip, named "streifen und flecken" (bubbles and streaks) made by Loetz after a design by Koloman Moser for a commission from the Bakalowits brothers.
Yes, I know, it's rather complicated, but I rely on specialists and a major auction house (Quittenbaum in Munich with Mr Pierre Brossard at the time) to back up my research, and the various origins converge towards the same conclusion. These productions date from 1903, and this model is more commonly known as the "Zephyr" model, which is a shade of white in the Loetz nomenclature.
Superb condition, 39 cm high, a tulip from 1903.
In the last photos, you'll find screenshots of the model I was able to find on this highly original tulip.
A true amateur piece, and what's more, truly sublime.
