Luis García Campos (1928-2011) - Pair Of Expressionist Bullfighting Compositions
Elegant pair of Spanish bullfighting compositions attributed to García Campos, created in a free and particularly lively expressionist style.
These works, executed in watercolor, ink and mixed media on paper, convey all the tension and movement of the world of Spanish bullfighting.
The line is fast, nervous and spontaneous, reminiscent of the great bullfighting artists of the twentieth century.
One of the compositions depicts a rejoneo scene with rider and horse facing the bull in the arena.
The other shows a figure in the bullring accompanied by a handwritten inscription and dedication.
The second work bears the handwritten inscription:
"Hermoso de Mendoza - García Campos", referring to the famous name of Spanish bullfighting.
Very fine decorative presence throughout, enhanced by their warm-toned period frames.
Spanish work from the second half of the 20th century.
