An extraordinary pair of antique French hand-carved wooden sabots dating to the 19th century. Beautifully decorated with rich scrolling floral and foliate carving, these remarkable folk art clogs feature unusual carved hand motifs emerging from the intertwining vines, lending them a whimsical and possibly symbolic character. Far removed from ordinary utilitarian footwear, they are striking decorative examples of French rural craftsmanship and traditional folk art.
