Curiosity Popular Art Wooden Ovoscope, Instrument To Mirer Eggs XIX Ref517

POPULAR ART from the end of the 19th century.
Rare Ovoscope or (egg candle) with a blackened wooden handle with a rotating egg cup at the top which accommodates the egg.
Its use is simple, you just have to put the egg, the big end upwards, in the support dedicated to this purpose and to position it in front of a light source allowing to see through the translucent shell by transparency.
It is then enough to turn the egg thanks to the grooves located at its base of the egg cup, one thus observes the shadow of the different parts of the egg to see if the egg is good and if the evolution of the embryo is goes well .

It is in good condition, some small restorations and normal wear and tear (nothing serious).
