The cup and its matching saucer feature circular reserves with polychrome decoration of animated landscapes, depicting for the cup a riverside embellished with figures, architecture and trees in a hilly landscape, and for the saucer a lakeside landscape treated en suite. These reserves are framed by a wide gold fillet. The body of the cup and the wing of the saucer are covered in a rich deep kiln blue, enhanced by a large gold frieze composed of interlacing, scrolls, palmettes, florets and foliate motifs arranged in a continuous composition. Gold fillet borders.
