Jaume Guiran ( Jacques André Marie Guiran ) Born in Paris in 1890, the Guiran family moved to Toulon and then Aix.From 1912 onwards, he enjoyed great success there, winning the Granet prize and numerous exhibitions alongside other artists, notably Paul Cézanne.Having become Provençal to the core, he signed his paintings with the first name Jaume, a Provençal variant of Jacques . He took part in the Colonial Exhibition in Marseille in 1922, and his work was acquired by the French state.He continued to take part in numerous exhibitions and illustrated books until his death in Aix in 1950.
