French Vase-shaped Table Clock (or "urn Clock"), Napoleon III Period
Body in "Sèvres Blue" porcelain
The two main spheres/urns are made of porcelain in a deep, intense cobalt blue
Gordon bronze mount.
The supporting structure features richly detailed workmanship.
Tripod base with animal paw feet (goat/feline), decorated with acanthus leaf motifs.
Dial: The dial is in white enamel, finely hand-painted with delicate floral garlands between the numerals. Arabic numerals indicate the hours, paired with small red numerals for the minutes on the outer edge. The brass hands are finely pierced and worked.
The "Rhinestone" Bezel: The dial is surrounded by a bezel embellished with a row of faceted crystals (rhinestones) that imitate diamonds, a detail designed to reflect the light of candles or the first lamps of the era.
Watch made in France during the Napoleon III era.
The complete but non-functional movement requires servicing.
