Large Bronze Sculpture, A Fresco Of A Faun. Italy, Late 19th Century
This large sculpture is clearly distinct from the female statuary model. The work dates back to the late 19th and early 20th centuries (between the late Grand Tour and Art Nouveau/Deco periods). It was likely produced in a Napoleonic foundry. The work was cast using this technique. The surface features a solid, almost black, opaque patina, applied chemically or by firing, which is very common in late 19th-century bronze reproductions. In good condition. Dimensions: 66 cm high, 40 cm long, and 26 cm deep.
