Elegant glazed ceramic flared vase made by Michel Alexandrov, known as Alix, in Vallauris. This piece is distinguished by its geometric and ornamental decoration, punctuated by stylized friezes in shades of green, yellow and white, evoking ancient Mediterranean decor.
With its rich motifs and balanced form, this vase perfectly illustrates the decorative revival of 20th-century Vallaurian ceramics.

Michel Alexandrov, known as Alix, belongs to the generation of artists who contributed to Vallauris' post-war artistic influence.
The decoration of this vase is directly inspired by the motifs of the Villa Kérylos in Beaulieu-sur-Mer, a famous residence inspired by the architecture and arts of ancient Greece. The geometric friezes, palmettes and spirals reflect this Hellenistic influence in a modernized decorative vocabulary specific to the Vallauris workshops.
The quality of the enamels and the workmanship of the motifs give this piece a strong decorative presence.
