Pair Of Neoclassical Italian Mirrors Northern Italy, Early 19th Century, Circa 1800-1820
Beautiful pair of carved and gilded wood mirrors with neoclassical-inspired scrolls, foliage and openwork pediments.
Italian work from the Louis XVI / Empire transition, probably Lombardy or Veneto.
The frames feature richly carved, finely executed symmetrical decoration, retaining an antique gilding with a beautiful warm patina. The mercury mirrors, probably original, show slight oxidation and alterations to the sheen characteristic of antique mirrors.
The ensemble offers an elegant and refined decorative presence, ideal in a classical, neoclassical or contemporary interior.
