Théodore Louis Boulard, born in Le Mans on July 19, 1887 and died in Kremlin-Bicêtre on October 21, 1961, was a French painter and musician. A pupil of Jules Hervé-Mathé at the École des Beaux Arts in Le Mans, he became a teacher there, then taught in Lesneven (1912-1914), Fougères (1914-1919), Aix-en-Provence (1920), at the Lycée Georges-Clemenceau (Nantes) (1921-1930), then in Paris at the Lycée Janson-de-Sailly and the Lycée Henri-IV, where he was in charge of preparatory drawing courses for the grandes écoles. He also taught at the Académie Julian. A member of the Société des artistes français, he is known for his scenes of daily life. As a musician, he won first prize in violin and solfeggio at the Le Mans music conservatory in 1899, and as a violin soloist, he conducted several orchestras. A mathematician with a passion for spatial geometry, he also wrote Vingt leçons de perspective (1951). He is buried in Saint-Marceau (Sarthe).
