Auguste Moreau (1834-1917) - French sculptor from a family of artists; his brother Mathurin was also a sculptor, and his father, Jean-Baptiste, was also a painter. Auguste made his debut at the Salon in 1861 and exhibited regularly until 1913. His sculptures feature genre scenes, pastoral scenes and allegories. His graceful, realistic style brings him into line with other members of the Moreau family.
