Representation of a peasant woman. Dressed in a vaporous apron, she returns from the fields barefoot. Leaning forward, she carries in her right hand a large basket filled with cut crops and in her left hand a pitchfork.Signature: Kossowski.
Henryk Kossowski (1855-1921) - Polish sculptor, graduate of the School of Fine Arts in Krakow. He exhibited his works in Paris, Vienna, Krakow and Warsaw. He specialized in full-length figurative sculpture. He produced his works in bronze as well as patinated plaster or terracotta.
Late 19th/early 20th century.
Bronze.
