Chinese geomantic compass – a tool of the ancient masters of geomancy, i.e., feng shui, used to determine auspicious spheres for humankind.
The luopan's dial is composed of concentric rings inscribed with various pieces of information drawn from Chinese philosophy, including the eight trigrams, the hexagrams of the Yijing, the five elements, and the 28 lunar stations.
