Carved Walnut Carlo X Console Table, Venetian Region, Early 19th Century
A solid walnut console table from northern Italy, influenced by Venetian design, dating to the early decades of the 19th century, in the full Charles X style with elements still linked to the Rocaille repertoire. The piece is distinguished by its rich carved detailing, which covers the entire structure. The curved apron is embellished with elegant carved plant motifs, while the strongly shaped and openwork legs give the console a dramatic and dynamic presence. The lower crossbar, also richly carved and dynamic, converges at the center into a vase-shaped turned element that lends further momentum to the whole. The top is particularly refined, veneered in feathered wood arranged in a patchwork pattern across four mirrored panels, characterized by a decorative natural marbling of great aesthetic impact. The entire console features a warm patina that enhances the quality of the wood and carvings. Dimensions: width 141 cm, depth 60 cm, height 86 cm. In good overall condition, with normal signs of aging consistent with the period.
