Pair Of Plates In Royal Vienna Porcelain, Circa Late 19th Century.
These two Old Vienna-style porcelain plates feature scalloped edges with a wide burnished-gold border, richly decorated with neoclassical reserves and motifs on a cobalt-blue background, including swans, horns of plenty and a Grecian frieze surrounding the central medallion . The medallion on the left illustrates the mythological scene entitled "Venus & Adonis" on the reverse, while the one on the right depicts "Jupito & Calista", each executed in an academic style with figures draped in antique style in wooded landscapes. On the reverse, each piece bears the blue shield mark and the title of the scene handwritten in black cursive. Viennese work from the late 19th century.
