XVIIIth Century Wooden Box From Ste Lucie Nancy Atelier Bagard
Early 18th century or late 17th century Saint Lucie wood chest.
Nancy, in the spirit of César Bagard ( 1620-1707)
work entirely in the style of his workshop.
decor of foliage scrolls and bouquet in a vase on top.
interior with its lock and hinges ( reinforced at the lid level as sectioned but complete)
missing on the front low left corner see photo.
small cracks and the lid slightly bent.
the back panel has been refixed with glue dots in the corners. An old repair that has not been touched and can be removed.
the box is in good condition considering its age.
nice patina.
there is an inscription on the bottom with a date.
