Pair Of Glazed Ceramic Vases By Delphin Massier, France, Late 19th Century

Artist: Delphin Massier
Pair of large glazed ceramic vases made by Delphin Massier in the late 19th century.Slender in form, they rest on a tulip-shaped base and rise to a stretched shaft, finished with a neck animated by four folded leaves forming handles. The deep raspberry-red glaze with flamed green highlights testifies to the craftsmanship of the Vallauris workshops. With their proportions and the quality of their glaze, these vases fully illustrate the decorative research carried out by the Massier family around the effects of matter and color.France, circa 1900.
