The Womb Chair was the first result of the collaboration between Eero Saarinen, Charles Eames, and Florence Knoll.They designed it in 1940 at the request of Florence Knoll, who asked them for “a chair that would be like a basket filled with cushions.” It was released in 1948. It was one of the first mass-produced armchairs, and decidedly modern for its time!
This piece is a second edition, featuring a black heathered wool fabric.
