Large dish in Arita hard porcelain, decorated in underglaze cobalt blue and red iron oxide, illuminated with gold in the pure basic Imari style. In the center, a lakeside landscape with pagoda, prunus, iris and maple trees; on the border, cartouches with peonies alternating with machiai (tea pavilions). Traces of firing beads can be seen on the reverse. Japan Arita kilns late 17th century. Very good condition, no restoration, no chips or cracks. Discreet wear. Diameter: 305mm. H:55mm This is a very fine example of Arita kiln production for Dutch demand in this particular period.
