Large Mermaid Candelabra, 19th Century (56 Cm)
Important gilt and chiseled bronze candelabra, freely inspired by the creations of Juste-Aurèle Meissonnier (1695-1750), with four light arms formed of flowering branches and scrolling foliage, emerging from a vase supported by three mermaids whose tails frame three cartouches, terminating in a shaped base with radiating fluting, acanthus leaves and acanthus leaf friezes, shells, rocaille motifs, etc. (minor wear, pierced for electricity).
