"Small Marquetry Chest Of Drawers, Italy, 18th Century"
A charming small chest of drawers veneered in walnut, rosewood, and native woods, either natural or stained, inlaid with lozenges, quatrefoil friezes, dotted patterns, etc., opening with two front drawers, the square-section uprights terminating in four tapered feet, the whole with simulated fluting (damage and restorations).
With its straight lines and geometric motifs inspired by Greco-Roman antiquity, this commode is reminiscent of works from the Maggiolini workshop.
Italy, last quarter of the 18th century.
Good condition.
