Biography:
A member of the Bordeaux school, Camille de Buzon was a pupil of Paul Quinsac and Gabriel Ferrier. He worked in Bordeaux, the Basque country and Algeria, where he exhibited regularly in Algiers between 1925 and 1937. In Bordeaux, he participated in decorating the foyers of the Bourse du Travail (the Palais with André Caverne, Albert Bégaud and François-Maurice Roganeau, creating a monumental fresco entitled "The Glory of the Port of Bordeaux" in a style known as neo-classical or neo-ingriste. In the Basque Country he often visited Bidarray with his friends Pierre-Albert Bégaud and René Rodes, so much that in the 1950s the name of the "Bidarray School" was created . His works were exhibited at the Salon des indépendants from 1920 to 1930. The Musée des Beaux-Arts and the Musée d'Aquitaine in Bordeaux conserve some of his of works.
